Genetic Polymorphism of Avian Leukosis Virus Host Receptors in Korean Native Chickens and Establishment of Resistant Line

چکیده
Avian leukosis virus (ALV) is a highly contagious retrovirus that causes tumors and has resulted in great economic loss worldwide owing to its high transmission rate. Various ALV viral subgroups exist, with infections occurring via specific host receptors. The susceptibility or resistance of avian species the ALV-A K determined by receptor, tumor locus A (tva) gene, while ALV-B depends on another B (tvb) gene. alleles tva tvb have primarily been identified China, but none detected Korea. We analyzed frequencies genotypes White Leghorn (WL), Korean Ogye (KO), native chicken (KNC) breeds assessed subgroups. In WL, both had various genotypes, including alleles, whereas KO, were dominant. KNC, mixed, addition, we showed there differences splicing pattern transcripts expression level within breeds. Finally, confirmed depended KO KNC in vitro infection embryonic fibroblasts ALV. These results highlight some individuals are naturally resistant A, B, will facilitate preservation economically superior traits through selective breeding.

A novel subgroup of exogenous avian leukosis virus in chickens.
An avian leukosis virus with a wide host range belonging to a new subgroup for chickens was isolated from meat-type chicken lines. The virus, of which HPRS-103 strain is the prototype, was of low oncogenicity in chickens but appeared to behave like an exogenous leukosis virus. Neutralizing antibodies to the virus were found in three of five meat-type chicken lines, but not in seven layer lines....
متن کاملInfection and Tumor Formation in Chickens By Avian Leukosis Virus
Lymphoid leukosis in chickens is a disease which arises from the result of complicated interaction between avian leukosis virus (ALV) as a pathogenic organism and chicken as a host. This report is intended to outline our present knowledge about genetic resistance of chickens in lymphoid leukosis. The defense of host in infectious disease could be considered dividing it into two: one as a workin...
متن کاملGenetic polymorphism and expression analysis of cMBL gene in Iranian native and commercial chickens
The aims of this study were to compare the promoter sequence of the mannose-binding lectin (cMBL) gene in Iranian native and commercial chicken strains; as well as to compare the cMBL gene expression in crossbred and inbred chickens. In total 79 native (Western Azerbaijan native fowls, WANF) and 49 commercial (Arian Commercial Strain, ACS) birds were reared as parents under same management prac...
متن کاملAvian Leukosis Virus Subgroup J in Layer Chickens, China
To the Editor: In recent years, cases of avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) infection and tumors in commercial layer chickens and breeders of egg-type chickens have been emerging in the People’s Republic of China. ALV-J was fi rst isolated from meattype chickens with myeloid leukosis in 1988. Although egg-type chickens have been experimentally infected with ALV-J to induce tumors (1), fi e...
متن کاملDomestic chickens activate a piRNA defense against avian leukosis virus
PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) protect the germ line by targeting transposable elements (TEs) through the base-pair complementarity. We do not know how piRNAs co-evolve with TEs in chickens. Here we reported that all active TEs in the chicken germ line are targeted by piRNAs, and as TEs lose their activity, the corresponding piRNAs erode away. We observed de novo piRNA birth as host responds to...
